BACKFinancial Controller
DEPARTMENT/TEAM: Finance
LOCATION: Dublin
SUMMARY
This role oversees monthly management reporting of companies within the Hercules Shipping group. The role is responsible for external and statutory reporting, tax declaration, and audit management, and is a key contributor to consolidation of monthly accounts.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage one accountant within a new team
- Monthly management reporting of fourteen companies of the Shipping Group.
-Balance Sheet & P&L
-Intercompany reconciliations
-Preparation of Management reports for Group Finance Director and Senior Management
-Variance analysis and Performance reporting
- External reporting and tax declaration
-Ensuring timely and correct tax compliance and statistical reporting of multiple jurisdictions
-Liaising with head of tax for tax matters
- Statutory reporting & Audit management
-Management of 12 company audits
-Management of completion of statutory accounts of these companies
-Ensuring compliance to IFRS and local GAAP when required
- Consolidation of accounts
-Assist Group Finance Director on the completion of monthly Consolidated accounts
-Assist Group Finance Director on preparation of consolidated report for Senior Management
- Working closely with other finance teams for better coordination of month end reporting
-AR or Invoicing Team
-AP team
Strong liaison with commercial teams for obtaining reliable financial information.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience in the areas of financial planning & analysis, finance business partnering, management accounting and financial control
- Excellent interpersonal, communications and presentation skills.
- Experience in consolidated accounts preferred
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proactive and self-motivated leader
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard finance packages
QUALIFICATIONS / ACCREDITATIONS
- An appropriate accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
