MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Advising of port dues, calling costs and other related costs at the point of quoting, and following through to ensure correct invoicing.
  • Organisation and monitoring of daily terminal operations.
  • Supporting local and worldwide traders within the company
  • Ensure correct and timely updates in the trading application (PTA) for all operations
  • Adhere to all procedures/processes & policies regarding usage of Company information systems, including CRM, trips, trading platform, expenses and leads
  • Staying current with all relevant industry news
  • Knowledge of Customs Regulation that applies in Europe
  • Closely coordinating with barges ops for daily operations

BARGE OPERATIONS

  • Coordinating with counterparties including port operators, shipping agents, bunker suppliers, surveyors, and traders to achieve a flawless bunker supply schedule throughout our physical regions.
  • Utilise reactive reports to assist supply team in mapping demand and lead generation for sales teams.
  • Coordinate closely with Cargo Team to ensure all parties in the supply chain are aware when product availability is nearing exhaustion, or product segregation is required, or create ullage in shore tanks and meticulously manage barge ullages when there is low product availability.
  • Acting as the first point of contact between supplier and customer traders and shipping agents.
  • Providing timely updates of vessel and suppliers schedules to traders and buyers.
  • Ensuring local customs procedures are fulfilled by proactively chasing for Bunker Delivery Notes, invoices and other documentation from suppliers and customers.
  • Establish and build relationships with new and existing suppliers/agents.
  • Proactively use MINT and local market intelligence to send leads for our region.
  • Assisting with back-to-back trading to the senior members of the team.

SUPPLY TRADING

  • Coordinate supplies within certain region/ supply market with cooperation with cargo, operations, technical and sales teams.
  • Understand, analyse, and interpret market conditions, fundamentals, market structure and other sources of information to provide complex market visibility.
  • Comply with Peninsula’s internal procedures, PTA, credit, and legal requirements.
  • Coordinate supply and operations with all departments.
  • Coordinate with Regional Book Manager and Hedging Desk to follow the price risk requirements and maximise value of supply within the Risk Management framework.
  • Understand and follow price mechanism, hedging and risk management.
  • Understand logistic set up (barges, storage, ships, port authorities’ requirements).
  • Understand and follow local bunker environment.
  • Use MINT and local market intelligence to understand competitors and flow of supplies.
  • Follow quality and legal requirements; understand various types of claims (Quantity, Quality and Demurrage).
  • Negotiation skills to reach the KPI’s.

CARGO TRADING

  • Maintain, establish, and build relationships with new and existing suppliers;
  • Procure Marine Fuels and their blending components to maintain a competitive supply into the regional physical ports;
  • Openly communicate with other cargo traders internally to maximise the flow of market and arbitrage opportunities globally;
  • Understand, analyse, and interpret market conditions, fundamentals, geopolitics, market structure plays and other sources of information to have a view that better positions Peninsula’s supply;
  • Coordinate supply and blending with local Operations teams
  • Coordinate with Chartering to maximize value of Peninsula’s shipping assets
  • Coordinate with Regional Book Manager and Hedging Desk to both mitigate pricing risk and to maximize value of supply within the Risk Management framework;
  • Coordinate with line manager and Regional Head to define and implement medium / long term procurement strategies;
  • Participate in both internal and external marketing activities when required;
  • Use MINT and local market intelligence to understand competitors and suppliers flows of supply;
  • Proactively control risks ensuring that all counterparties are vetted and approved, cost of claims are minimized, and counterparty financial strength is regularly and carefully considered in conjunction with the Supplier Credit Team;
