Peninsula is proud to announce that Jeroen De Vos, Global Head of Operations, has been appointed Vice Chair of IBIA – The International Bunker Industry Association.

The appointment was formally announced at the IBIA Board Meeting preceding the IBIA Annual Dinner on 9 February in London, held during International Energy Week. Jeroen, who has served on IBIA’s Board of Directors since 2023, will step into the Vice Chair role previously held by Adrian Tolson, who has served in the position for the past two years and will now take over as Chair of IBIA.

For more than a decade, Jeroen has played an active and influential role within the bunker and marine fuels community, having contributed to multiple IBIA working groups and served as a senior advisor on key industry initiatives focused on regulatory alignment, operational excellence, fuel quality and sector development.

Commenting on his appointment, Jeroen said:

“I’m very proud to take on the role of Vice Chair, and I would like to thank the Board for their support and confidence in me. I look forward to continuing my work with fellow industry leaders at IBIA to ensure the bunker industry has a strong and unified voice.

“Beyond championing greater uniformity and transparency in the supply chain—as well as in the implementation of regulations—I am also eager to help strengthen the industry’s future talent pipeline, with a renewed emphasis on training & education, and a continued focus on marine fuel quality and specifications. My goal is to further enhance collaboration with all stakeholders.”

“Thank you to IBIA and all its members for their continued support. It has been a pleasure working alongside such knowledgeable and experienced individuals over the past years. I hope to continue contributing to and collaborating with this remarkable group. Together, we can ensure the sector continues to adapt and evolve as one.”

“Finally, I would like to congratulate Adrian Tolson for being appointed Chair of IBIA.“

John A. Bassadone, Founder and CEO of Peninsula, said: “Congratulations to Jeroen and Adrian for their new appointments. IBIA continues to play an increasingly important role in the development and support of the bunker industry. Having worked with Jeroen for several years, as Head of Quality and now Head of Global Operations, I am confident we are in good hands and he will have Peninsula’s full support.”
