Peninsula is pleased to announce that we have received a Special Recognition Award from the University of Gibraltar during its sixth annual graduation ceremony.
The University presented this award in acknowledgement of our ongoing support for the next generation of maritime professionals, particularly through our Next Gen Seafarers initiative. This programme provides young people with practical exposure to life at sea, including hands-on training using the University’s state-of-the-art maritime simulator, which allows participants to experience real-world navigational scenarios in a safe and immersive environment. Together, these elements play a vital role in strengthening the future talent pipeline of the maritime industry.
We were honoured to attend the graduation ceremony. Education has always been central to Peninsula’s vision, and hearing the Rt Hon Pat Orfila MP, Minister for the University, tell graduates that “education will set you free” was a powerful reminder of the transformative opportunity education provides. This belief is fundamental to why we continue to invest in programmes that expand access to learning, skills development, and meaningful career pathways.
This recognition underscores our strong partnership with the University of Gibraltar and reflects the dedication of our teams who consistently champion education, innovation, and the long-term sustainability of our sector.
We extend our thanks and congratulations to everyone involved, especially Louis Robba and Nick Gordon, for helping make this collaboration such a meaningful success.
