Marine fuels supporting regulatory and emissions requirements

Sustainable Marine Biofuels

Biofuels are renewable liquid fuels produced from biogenic feedstocks such as agricultural residues, waste cooking oils, and other non‑petroleum organic materials. These products are available in their pure form (B100 or HVO100), which contain no fossil content, and can also be blended at any ratio with conventional marine fuels.

Biofuels are now an established part of the marine fuel mix and are increasingly used and pursued by commercial vessels looking to address regulatory requirements, as well as end users aiming to reduce the emissions associated with their products travelling across global supply chains. Peninsula offers a range of waste-based marine biofuel blends designed for drop-in use, offering reliable performance without the need for engine modifications.

How biofuels support cleaner, compliant shipping

Biofuels provide an immediate, practical way for shipowners to lower emissions and meet tightening global and European regulations.

They help improve compliance with IMO decarbonisation measures, reduce costs under the EU ETS by lowering CO₂ emissions, and support FuelEU Maritime requirements for cleaner energy use. By adopting sustainable biofuels, shipping companies can also offer low‑carbon freight solutions, helping both shipping companies and their respective customers meet their own sustainability goals while gaining a competitive advantage.

Why Peninsula?

Our focus goes beyond supply—we ensure full traceability and documentation for every delivery. All our biofuels are ISCC‑certified, guaranteeing sustainability and compliance throughout the supply chain.

Biofuels are handled and delivered using the same operational standards as conventional fuels, ensuring seamless integration into existing bunkering processes and consistent, high‑quality service across our global network.
