Peninsula is now an Ordinary Member of the Singapore Shipping Association (SSA), a national trade association formed in 1985 to promote the interests of its members and to enhance Singapore’s competitiveness as an International Maritime Centre.
Currently, SSA represents over 500 member companies, including shipowners and operators, ship managers, ship agents, Associate Members, shipbrokers, classification societies, marine insurers, bunker suppliers and maritime lawyers, and more recently, Startup Members providing technology services to the shipping industry.
To navigate the future of the maritime industry, member companies are given the opportunity to be part of the Association’s committees and working groups, namely Digital Transformation, International, Legal & Insurance, Marine Fuels, Offshore Services, Technical, Shipping Finance Services and Young Executives Group.
SSA conducted its 27th Annual General Meeting on 28th June 2023, and warmly welcomed new members, including Peninsula, during the cocktail reception that followed the AGM. Alternative fuels and digitalisation were some of the hot topics discussed at the networking event.
While the event solidifies the Association’s pivotal role in shaping the future of the maritime industry, Peninsula hopes to continue enhancing its engagement with stakeholders in the maritime sector through this additional platform and contributing further towards the Singapore maritime landscape.
