Peninsula Colleagues Celebrate 30 Years of Growth Across Global Offices

As Peninsula reaches the halfway point of its 30th anniversary year, colleagues across the world have come together through a series of local celebrations recognising three decades of growth, resilience and innovation.

The events, held across Peninsula’s global office network, have provided an opportunity for teams to reflect on the company’s evolution from a small London-based operation in 1996 to a diversified global energy business serving customers around globally.

Speaking at Peninsula’s Gibraltar anniversary celebration, CEO John A. Bassadone reflected on the company’s journey: “What we have built together, how we have grown not only in size, but the number of different activities and businesses within the wider industry under one big group.”

Over the past 30 years, Peninsula has expanded significantly, growing from supplying 75,000 tonnes annually to supplying around 20 million tonnes per year, while developing a global physical supply network, cargo procurement and trading activities, tanker management operations and alternative fuel capabilities.

The anniversary comes during a period of continued development for the business. Recent strategic initiatives include the launch of a new physical supply operation in Mauritania, ongoing investment in LNG and alternative fuel solutions, and continued focus on digitalisation and operational efficiency.

While the celebrations have focused on past achievements, they have also reinforced Peninsula’s commitment to future growth.

As John noted during the event: “30 years on, what we have built puts us in a fantastic position to keep on expanding and diversifying at a much faster pace in the future.”

Peninsula continues to pursue opportunities across traditional and alternative marine fuels, shipping, trading and decarbonisation solutions while remaining committed to supporting customers through an evolving energy landscape.

This is just the beginning for Peninsula.
