Women Maritime

Today Peninsula celebrates the hardworking #women in the #maritime sector. The 18th May 2022 marks the inauguration of the International Women in Maritime Day, designated by the IMO Assembly in December 2021 to acknowledge and pay tribute to the accomplishments of maritime women.

Kitack Lim, IMO Secretary General, urges #genderequality to be recognised as a key platform for a #sustainable #future. Peninsula proudly holds sustainability as one of its three pillars and adheres to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Agenda by promoting the recruitment and employment of women in the maritime industry, addressing the current gender imbalance in the sector.

Women working on all sides of the maritime field across the globe support the transition to a decarbonised, digitalised and more sustainable future for the industry. Through training, visibility and recognition, a barrier-free working environment for women in maritime can be achieved today. Maritime is for everyone.
